“If we are to keep our democracy, there must be one commandment: Thou Shalt Not Ration Justice.”
Judge Learned Hand
The U.S Courts were created under Article III of the constitution to administer justice fairly and impartially, within the jurisdiction established by the Constitution and Congress. The Bench-Bar relationship is critical to this process with the Bench (judges) and the Bar (advocates) maintaining a relationship of mutual respect and understanding. The District of Kansas established a Bench-Bar Committee to work together towards a shared goal of dispensing justice. All attorneys registered to practice in our Court are encouraged to apply to join the Bench-Bar Committee.
