Kenneth George Gale was born at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, and raised in Arizona and New Mexico. He obtained his bachelor’s degree, with honors, from Loyola University of New Orleans, and his law degree, with honors, from Washburn University in Topeka. He was a member of the Loyola Faculty Senate and the Board of Editors of the Washburn Law Journal.
Following law school Gale served four years on active duty with the U.S. Army as an appellate defense attorney in the Washington D.C. area. After completing his active service commitment, he moved to Wichita where he practiced with the firms of Matlack & Foote, Focht, Hughey & Calvert and, most recently, with Adams Jones Law Firm. His practice included a broad range of litigation areas, including employment law, civil rights, real estate, criminal defense, business disputes and personal injury. He is an active member of the Kansas Bar Association and the Wichita Bar Association, and is a Master in the Wesley E. Brown American Inn of Court.
Judge Gale is a retired Army National Guard Colonel, and served as the Judge Advocate General of the Kansas National Guard from 2001 until his retirement in 2008, concluding 31 years of active and reserve component military service. He served as the Rule of Law Officer for Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan in 2005. His military awards include the Legion of Merit and the Bronze Star Medal.
