Position Description
- Maintain, reconcile, and analyze accounting records in accordance with the Guide to Judiciary Policy, our internal controls, and generally accepted accounting principles
- Process accounts payable and receivable
- Monitor daily fund balances, transfer funds as necessary and appropriate
- Disburse criminal debt restitution payments to case-related victims
- Coordinate criminal debt information with other federal and law enforcement agencies
- Process travel reimbursements and vendor payments
- Maintain a cash receipts journal, registry fund, deposit fund
- Assist with budget planning and preparation for two court units
- Prepare a variety of financial and budget reports
- Use a variety of financial systems and spreadsheets
- Update and improve processes
- Work closely with Finance team and court staff to perform functions, communicate, and train
- Other financial duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of general clerical experience, which may be substituted with post-secondary education
- One year of specialized experience, which is progressively responsible clerical or administrative experience that provided knowledge of the rules, regulations, practices, and principles of financial administration and/or accounting; and involved the routine use of automated financial and accounting systems or other computer-based systems and applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, or databases
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and exemplary diplomacy and judgment
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- A professional demeanor and strong work ethic
- Prior experience with government finance or budget regulations and procedures would be helpful but not mandatory
