Skyler B. O’Hara Selected as the District of Kansas Clerk of Court


The United States District Court for the District of Kansas is pleased to announce that on September 1, 2021, Skyler B. O’Hara will become the 17th Clerk of Court since the district was founded in 1861. Ms. O’Hara is a Kansas native who attended both Kansas State University and the University of Kansas. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in French, Anthropology & International Studies from Kansas State University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law where she served as an articles editor for the Kansas Journal of Law and Public Policy. Following her legal studies and admittance to the Kansas Bar, Ms. O’Hara joined the District Court in 2003 as a law clerk to the Honorable Wesley E. Brown in Wichita, Kansas. Since 2006, she has served as both the Deputy Director and Director of Court Administration at the Robert J. Dole U.S. Courthouse in Kansas City, Kansas. She is a lifetime member of the Federal Court Clerks Association and served as Treasurer for the International Association for Court Administration. Ms. O’Hara resides in Lawrence with her husband and two sons. She succeeds Timothy M. O’Brien, who has served as Clerk of Court since 2008.
