On Friday, September 15 at 9:30 AM at Wichita and on Wednesday, September 20 at 9:30 AM at Kansas City, the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas and the local Federal Bar Associations will host a celebration where a diverse group will recite the U.S. Constitution in its entirety.  Those reading the Constitution will include federal and state judges, local politicians, court staff, members of the public, and children from Kansas schools. 

Following the event, the court will offer local students a guided tour of the courthouse and provide an opportunity to experience our judicial system in action.  Kim Leininger, Chief Deputy Clerk, stated, “This is a public building owned by United States Citizens.  Our court proceedings and records are open to the public.  We believe it is important to expose young people to the justice system so that when they are someday summoned to serve as a federal court juror, they will understand the importance of this right afforded to all U.S. Citizens.”
