The U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas has established procedures for emergency after-hours litigation in connection with the upcoming general election on November 5, 2024.
To request legal action after 5:00 PM on November 5, contact Kim Leininger, Chief Deputy Clerk, at the temporary emergency number: (913) 735-2395.
Complaints should be filed electronically using CM/ECF. If a motion for Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) is filed, the parties should complete the Information Sheet for Temporary Restraining Order and attach it to the motion in CM/ECF. For non-attorney parties who do not have access to CM/ECF, please submit your complaint by e-mail to ksd_clerks_kansascity@ksd.uscourts.gov or by fax: (913) 735-2249.
According to a news release from U.S. Attorney Kate Brubacher, federal prosecutors will be monitoring election complaints while the polls are open on November 5.
