Annual Bar Membership Renewal

Renewal Overview

Attorneys admitted to the practice of law in the District of Kansas must renew their bar membership by June 30, 2025, to maintain active status. On July 1, attorneys who have not renewed will be placed in Terminated status and will no longer have filing access in CM/ECF. The attorney registration and renewal process is governed by D. Kan. Rule 83.5.3.

Attorney memberships are renewed via CM/ECF. There is a $25 renewal fee; there is no fee for inactive or retired status. There is no longer a group pay option for renewals. If you would like step-by-step instructions with screen shots, please click to follow the Detailed Annual Renewal Instructions. To return to Active status from Terminated status, follow the Reinstatement Instructions and pay the $125 reinstatement fee.
